Are we allowed to start working on our projects now?

The hackathon doesn't start until October 22nd, but I don't see anything in the rules forbidding prior work. I just want to make sure I'm allowed to start working before I start.

  We don't allow prior work.
  You can of course start brainstorming & finding your team members etc.
